CAPPED ROLLERBALL

In honor of Henry David Thoreau, the Limited Edition Walden Woods Rollerball pen has been added to the prestigious Graf von Faber-Castell family. The famous American writer Henry David Thoreau was a leader in the movement of environmental awareness and conservation. Faber-Castell also has a strong commitment to the conservation of nature and the environment and has embraced the message of Henry D. Thoreau, who lived in solitude at Walden Woods for over two years. His reflections of that experience resulted in his book published in 1854, Walden, or Life in the Woods.

Made of naturally fallen ash wood from the infamous Walden Woods, the Limited Edition Rollerball is individually numbered and has the following quotation etched in Thoreau’s own handwriting on the barrel:

"So we saunter toward the Holy land;
till one day the sun shall shine more brightly than ever he has done,
shall perchance shine into our minds and hearts,
and light up our whole lives with a great awakening light,
so warm and serene and golden as on a bank-side in Autumn."

For each pen sold, Faber-Castell will donate a portion of the proceeds to the cause of preserving Walden Woods and enabling American Forests to plant a tree. Included with each pen is a certificate for a free one year subscription to American Forests magazine.
